What is Clinical Weight Loss?
Clinical Weight Loss at The Vanity Bar is a Nurse Practitioner/Medical Director supervised program. The goal of CWL is not only to help clients reach their goal weight, but the program is also aimed at developing healthy and sustainable habits in the long run!
How does Clinical Weight Loss work? What’s the process at the VB?
- The first step of the Clinical Weight Loss program is setting up a consultation. During this initial meeting, you will sit down with our Nurse Practitioner/Medical Director. We will discuss your goals, medical history, medications we offer, and cost of treatment. There is no pressure to get started! Take your time and think everything over, and let us know if you’d like to proceed with the program.
- Once you’ve decided to move forward, we will do an initial lab draw, physical assessment (including weight and body measurements), and order the medication. Your first CWL Membership payment will be collected on this day.
- It takes a few days for the lab results to come back, and the medication to arrive. Once it does, you will be scheduled to come in for a quick appointment to review labs and receive education on how to administer your injections. Injections can either be done by yourself at home, or you may come in each week to have them administered by nursing staff at The VB. Either way, this is included in your monthly payment!
- We do ask for a minimum of 3 months of being on the program. This is to ensure that adequate time is given to the process of building healthy habits and working towards your goal. There is no maximum time to be receiving treatment. You may remain on the CWL program until your goal is met.
Who is a good candidate for CWL?
- Whether you are a good candidate for CWL will depend on a variety of different factors and is not necessarily one size fits all. This will be discussed at your initial consultation.
- You may be a good candidate if: You have a BMI greater than 30, you are NOT pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to become pregnant, you have no history of Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome, if you have a goal weight you’d like to reach, and are committed to implementing healthy long-term habits to get there.
